Officer Betty Shelby resigned today from the Tulsa Police Department

Officer Shelby was involved in the shooting death of Terence Crutcher on September 16, 2016.

Officer Shelby testified in court that she was in fear of her life and got off on May 17, 2017, on the charge of first-degree manslaughter.

Sources report that Shelby was on the bid-board, a board where officers can bid jobs/cases/assignments; however, TPD assessed that she was a security risk and would require more than one officer and squad car to accompany her. Rather than be restricted to a cubical with no window, Shelby resigned.
