The Black Wall Street Times is a news media company, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was founded by Nehemiah D. Frank in February 2017. Frank is currently the executive director and editor of the organization.

Tulsa’s Greenwood District is home to America’s original Black Wall Street. The community received its nickname from the highly revered, writer and educator, Booker T. Washington, during his visit to the then prosperous black town in the earlier 20th century.

From May 31 to June 1, 1921, this flourishing community was destroyed by racial hatred. 36 square blocks were burned to the ground and over 300 African American residents were massacred. The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre was the first time in American history where bombs were used on U.S. citizens.

This year, the City of Tulsa is currently preparing for the centennial of the destruction of this community and the massacre of its black residents.
