Former Tulsa Mayoral Candidate Attends Violent Insurrection at Capitol Building

When white American domestic terrorists breached the Capitol building yesterday, which ended in four deaths, Tulsa citizen Ken Reddick was there in support. The former Tulsa mayoral candidate, who received nearly 10,000 votes, said the insurrection was an “awesome rally” that he was “proud to be part of.” 

This man, who called himself the only true conservative running for Mayor of Tulsa, spent the months since President-Elect Biden easily won both the electoral college and 52% of the popular vote regurgitating the usual right-wing lies about faulty voting machines and Hunter Biden’s laptop. 

Fact Check, a non-profit organization that has been independently investigating political statements since 2007, labels both of Reddick’s allegations as “Pants On Fire Lies,” while social media tags both claims as “fraudulent.” 

Reddick, who advertised his failed Tulsa mayoral campaign watch party with a note that neither masks nor social distancing would be enforced, seems to perpetuate lie after lie to make up for his multiple failings in local politics. His mayoral campaign’s social media page included a plea for Tulsans to defeat Bloomberg’s “globalist” agenda by voting for him. 

Based on the phrase “Global Jews,” globalist is a term coined by Adolph Hitler to further stoke antisemitism during the Holocaust. The anti-defamation league notes the word, which Trump often uses, is popular with white supremacists and right-wing extremists, who glorify the genocide of 6 million Jewish people, including 10 of the author’s great-aunts and great-uncles. 

Photos from Tuesday’s Capitol Building insurrection featured men carrying Confederate flags, a lynching post, a mannequin with a noose around its neck, a man wearing a sweatshirt that said “Camp Auschwitz,” and a man wearing a shirt with a Nazi symbol with the acronym 6MWE, for “6 million weren’t enough,” all symbols the African-American and Jewish communities considers as hate and terrorism.  

Reddick, whose business website states “Ken Reddick, along with his family are (sic) some of the most humble, and honest family (sic) you will meet here in Tulsa,” is against police oversight and believes Mayor G.T. Bynum, a registered Republican, is too progressive. He also takes issue with the Tulsa GOP chairman, Republican Bob Jack, who pressured Tulsa city council to have the Greenwood Black Lives Matter mural replaced with Blue Lives Matter graffiti. 

Tulsa, the site of Trump’s first public rally during a viral pandemic that has now killed over 350,000 citizens, later became the first city in the nation to remove a BLM mural. 

Paradoxically, Reddick seems to believe that it was members of the Black Lives Matter movement who were directly involved in the nation’s Capitol building’s violent takeover. At the same time, his presence at the mob riot and looting was a matter of supporting “American loving patriots.” 

Meanwhile, after law enforcement finally removed the terrorists from the Capitol building, which had not been breached by the public since the War of 1812, Congress reconvened at 9 pm EST and certified Biden’s historic election win.
