TULSA, Okla. – The Holberton School, a tuition-deferred college alternative for training software engineers, is currently accepting applications for its next cohort, which starts on September 7. Now through September 1, applicants can complete the application process to be considered for the program, which provides those with or without prior coding experience access to innovative, Silicon Valley-developed curriculum.
“September will be an exciting time for Holberton Tulsa, as we welcome our next group of students and celebrate the graduation of our inaugural cohort,” said Libby Ediger, Holberton Tulsa Executive Director. “The students who come through our doors continue to amaze me, and I look forward to continuing to witness their contributions to Tulsa’s thriving tech community.”
Students encouraged to register
Students in the September cohort can take advantage of Holberton Tulsa’s new 12-month programs, which include Computer Science and Front-End Web Development, Computer Science and Back-End Web Development and Computer Science and DevOps Engineering, as well as offerings intended for those with prior technical education or experience. Those courses include Machine Learning, Linux Programming, Advanced Algorithms and Blockchain, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, and Full-Stack Web Development.
Graduates will leave the program with a diploma in their program of choice. They have the option of paying no upfront tuition, and qualifying students can receive need-based living assistance through a partnership with the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Additionally, students across Oklahoma now have access to a Holberton education, thanks to new distanced learning opportunities.
Holberton Tulsa’s inaugural graduation is scheduled for September 17. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks. Those interested in being part of the September 7 cohort can apply online through September 1. The application process takes approximately two to three weeks to complete. Holberton applications are open to those over the age of 18 with a high school or general equivalency degree.

Ohhh… When I heard that the only Holberton School in America (the ONLY school in the United States) in San Francisco, California, had closed its doors under Fraud allegations, I thought we were done with this.
Holberton later explained that all the Fraud was simply a misunderstanding. And that the only reason they didn’t re-open their Silicon Valley San Francisco building was because the COVID Pandemic made it impossible to teach. Apparently a school that teaches how to CODE for online web pages to be interactive (so other people can learn online) somehow can’t figure out how to teach their own classes online. Maybe they are right.
They have only been in existence for four or five years. Not long enough to establish a track record for success. But they hurriedly opened quite a few ‘schools’ in 2nd world, and 3rd world countries in the last three years — or so.
Maybe they are an honest school. I don’t know. I do know that I would tell my children to stay away from this one.
They claim their training will help you land a job with Microsoft, Google, Apple, and other multi-billion dollar Companies of that size. Does anyone (NOT their Marketing Department) know if they are accurate that their Graduates get jobs with those Big-League Companies?
