An unarmed pregnant black woman was killed by a police officer in Baytown, Texas, about 25 miles east of Houston, TX. Believing the woman had outstanding warrants, the police officer attempted to arrest her.

KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (KIPP) is focusing on community wellness and promoting healthy living this spring with its first KIPP 5K at Mohawk Park on Saturday, May 11 at 8:00 a.m.
“I was so heartbroken. I was hurt. I had a blank stare at one moment, and I just cried,” she said. “I wouldn’t know how it felt because it wasn’t mine to have, but when I knew what I had and should’ve had, it hurt. It just hurt a different way,” the teen said.
According to the American Heart Association, Black Americans are disproportionately affected by high blood pressure, making them a primary risk factor for stroke and heart disease.
