Black creatives illustrate intimate Black living through film

As Blacks, we know us. We get us. We are not scared of us because we do not see each other’s Black bodies as weapons. Our Black skin does not evoke fear. Though, for law enforcement, our blackness disproportionately warrants an excuse to “shoot to kill,” and it is due to this normality that the Black community collectively fears a blue uniform and gold badge. But is it right to fear each other, color for color?

Oklahoma legislators don’t give a d–n about public education

Okla. — Let’s be Frank! What happened this past Tuesday at the Oklahoma state capital was pretty f–ked-up. Once again, state legislators had the opportunity to halt the pedagogue brain-drain that has haunted the state since 2008; but of course, Oklahoma leaders voted against a revenue bill that would have given state teachers their much needed and well deserved, although minuscule, pay raise of $3,000.
