NEW ORLEANS — Hezly Rivera, the youngest member of Team USA’s Women’s Artistic Gymnastics squad at the Paris Olympics, captured the senior all-around title at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships this past Sunday. The win comes just weeks after a less-than-stellar showing in the U.S. Classic—proof that she’s still golden.

Rivera led the field in the all-around across both days of competition, posting a combined 112.000 to secure the title. She also claimed gold on three of the four apparatus Sunday evening—balance beam (28.350), floor exercise (28.200), and a shared uneven bars crown (27.600) alongside Skye Blakely (Frisco, Texas/University of Florida).

“It means the world to me to take this national championship title home because I worked so hard for this. It was not easy coming back after the Olympics. I took some time off—so much work in the gym, hard work, blood, sweat, tears,” Rivera said.

Skye Blakely’s Inspiring Comeback After Olympic Heartbreak

For Blakely, the bars title marked a triumphant return to elite competition after recovering from an Achilles injury that forced her to miss the Paris Olympics. Once considered a lock for Team USA before her injury, her presence in New Orleans was a reminder of her resilience and a testament to the depth of U.S. women’s gymnastics.

“The last year has been a lot, but I’m just happy to be where I am right now. I’m full of gratitude and happy to be here,” Blakely said.

Blakely opted out of the all-around, choosing instead to focus on the uneven bars and balance beam as she eased back into elite competition.

Demonstrating the consistency that has become her trademark, Leanne Wong (Overland Park, Kan./University of Florida) placed second in the all-around with a combined two-day score of 111.200, bolstered by a gold medal on vault (28.175) and a bronze on bars (27.500).

Joscelyn Roberson (Texarkana, Texas/University of Arkansas) earned all-around bronze with 109.600 and picked up silver on floor (27.900), rounding out a podium stacked with proven competitors and inspiring comebacks.
