Beyoncé will appear alongside Vice President Kamala Harris at a campaign event in Houston, Texas on Friday.
According to The Washington Post, sources familiar with the plans confirmed the event would be publicly announced shortly. Beyoncé will reportedly also perform at the Harris campaign event.
The appearance by Beyoncé comes as Harris’s campaign sprints to the finish in what may be one of the closest elections in recent U.S. History.
Harris will appear in Georgia on Thursday alongside former President Barack Obama, singer Bruce Springsteen, director Spike Lee and others.
Beyoncé’s endorsement of Harris and campaign event comes amid growing concerns about a possible Trump win
The Vice President also attended a televised town hall event with CNN on Wednesday night. Initially, both she and Trump were invited for a second debate, Trump declined. When CNN offered to do two separate town halls, Trump again declined. Harris accepted both invitations.
While on stage with CNN, Harris made clear she believed Donald Trump is a fascist. Her words come after Trump’s former Chief of Staff, four-star Marine General John Kelley, said the same.
In an interview, Kelley said Trump would rule as a fascist if elected to a second term. He also recounted the former president stating “I need the kind of generals Hitler had”.
Harris called Kelley’s decision to speak out days before the election “a 9-1-1 call to the American people”.
Beyoncé’s appearance alongside Harris also comes as Democrats raise concerns about support from Black and young voters.
New polls in key swing states like Georgia show Harris garnering less support among Black voters now than she and Biden did in the 2020 election. A recent HarrisX poll also shows Harris nearly evenly split with Trump among voters 18-29.
News of Beyoncé’s official endorsement and decision to campaign with Harris is already sparking excitement across social media. The Harris campaign is expected to announce information about a time and venue for the event shortly.
