An urgent search is underway in the Charlotte area for 31-year-old Frezja Matisse Baker. She is a North Carolina mother who has been missing since late last week.
Family members and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) are appealing to the public for any information regarding her whereabouts. They have expressed deep concern for her current well-being.
Ms. Baker was last seen around 9:52 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, near 1323 Lasalle Street in Charlotte. According to police reports, she was driving her gray-blue 2004 Honda Accord with a South Carolina Temporary License Plate HBL5984A. Both she and her vehicle remain unaccounted for.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are particularly troubling for her loved ones. Family members report that Ms. Baker, a devoted mother, had dropped off her two-year-old son at her grandparents’ house following a dental appointment on Thursday.
Her brother, Fred, told media outlets she called her family around 10:30 p.m., stating she was about an hour away. However, she never arrived and has not been heard from since.
“My sister never came home,” Fred Baker stated. “She always comes home to check on her kid.” This uncharacteristic silence is why the family is so worried, stating she would never voluntarily abandon her young son.
Police and Family Appeal
The CMPD’s Missing Persons Unit is actively investigating the case and has requested the public’s immediate assistance. They have circulated a detailed description of Ms. Baker: she is a Black female, 5’4” tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

When she was last seen, she was wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt with “Panthers” written in white and blue on the chest, dark-colored leggings, and white shoes, and was carrying a black purse with a gold-colored strap.
Every passing day without contact deepens the family’s anguish. Ms. Baker’s mother has made a tearful plea to the community for help, emphasizing that they simply want their daughter home safely.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen Ms. Baker, her distinctive vehicle, or who has any knowledge—no matter how small it may seem—of her recent activities to contact authorities immediately. The police stress that any information could be critical to locating her.
The collective hope of the Charlotte community and Ms. Baker’s family remains focused on her safe return, urging residents across North and South Carolina to be vigilant and share the missing person alert.
