Take a stand by taking a knee

“Hello Hornets, in light of the controversy that has gripped our school and in our nation, it is important that all voices are heard. By taking a knee at this year’s Booker T. Washington Homecoming game during the National Anthem, we are protesting all oppressive forces that seek to silence those that are brave enough to take a stand and voice their opposition to racial injustice wherever it is found. By coming together and making this statement, we stand in solidarity with those that seek to right the injustices in our school, community, and in our Nation.” – Jillian Owens

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.”
