British supermodel Naomi Campbell announced she’s become the mother of a baby girl on Instagram this morning, sending shockwaves through social media.
The 50-year-old internationally recognized fashion icon posted, “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.”
Thousands of comments poured in throughout the morning, with everyone from fans to fashion giants congratulating the new mother.
“Oh my God!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around,” designer Marc Jacobs posted in response.
Campbell didn’t share any details about how she became a new mother, but it comes after decades as a trendsetting Black supermodel.
At age seven, Campbell made her first public appearance in a 1978 Bob Marley music video for “Is This Love”. Four decades later, Campbell’s daughter appeared to the world, and the world couldn’t be more happy for her.
