“I have no regrets for what I did.” That is what the 36-year-old unarmed woman from India told the media, as she cut off her boyfriend’s genitals for attempted rape of her 14-year-old daughter.
She caught her 32-year-old boyfriend “red handed”.
In Uttar Pradesh, near the Nepali border in northern India, the incident was reported Wednesday. This happened in Mahewaganj area of UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district.
The woman came home from working on the farm and was shocked as to what she walked into.
She was so grateful that she walked in before anything happened, stating “Fortunately, I returned home in the nick of time and caught him red-handed. He even attacked me while I was trying to save my daughter, so I brought a knife from the kitchen and chopped off his private parts to teach him a lesson,” the mother informed The Times of India.
They have been living with her boyfriend for two years, following a separation from her alcoholic husband.
An Indian law called the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) allowed authorities to charge the boyfriend with rape under child abuse laws. It serves to protect children from sexual assault, pornography, and harassment.
In recent years, there has been an increase in abusive and violent criminal acts perpetrated against women and girls. This resulted in the country passing stricter rape laws, such as The POCSO ACT.
The boyfriend is in critical condition and receiving treatment in the hospital. As of now, it is undisclosed whether or not the mom will face charges .
I’m not surprised she chopped of his genitals. My punishment to the rapist would have been worse.
