The Black Wall Street Times is proud to announce the appointment of Martie Bowser as its new Managing Editor.
Bowser is a seasoned journalist and editor with more than a decade of experience in journalism, content creation, and communications. Her storytelling spans culture, travel, entertainment, lifestyle, and history, always rooted in the human experience and cultural resonance.
Bowserโs work has appeared in major national and digital outlets, including Essence, Ebony, Blavity, Forbes, Yahoo and its verticals, and Shadow & Act, reflecting her range across lifestyle, culture, entertainment, and feature reporting.
โItโs an honor to step into the role of Managing Editor at The Black Wall Street Times, a publication I have valued and believed in since becoming a contributor in 2022,โ Bowser said. โI have always admired our unwavering commitment to telling stories that reflect the truth, complexity, and brilliance of Black communities โ especially those that are too often underserved and underheard. Iโm grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to help serve a platform that not only informs, but also advocates.โ
โMartie Bowser’s appointment is a strategic investment in the long-term editorial infrastructure of The Black Wall Street Times. I couldn’t think of a better professional to lead our team,โ said Nehemiah D. Frank, founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief. โAs we scale our newsroom and deepen our accountability journalism, we need leadership that understands how to build systems, mentor talent, and safeguard editorial independence while growing institutional capacity.โ
As Managing Editor, Martie Bowser will oversee newsroom operations, guide editorial strategy, and help expand BWSTโs contributor network and accountability reporting initiatives. She will lead purposeful, inclusive, and impactful storytelling that is true to the voice and mission of The Black Wall Street Times, upholding an editorial standard that is both culturally responsible and creatively bold.
This kind of journalism isnโt built by algorithms or corporate sponsors chasing neutrality. Itโs built by people who understand that Black stories deserve editorial leadership, cultural fluency, and institutional power.
Martie Bowserโs appointment is a strategic investment in the future of independent Black media. But sustaining this level of leadership requires readers who believe in funding journalism that is accountable to our communities, not advertisers or political interests.
