TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. presents two community forums to be held on October 17, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. and October 19, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., both at Rudisill Library located at 1520 N. Hartford Ave. The forums will focus on the New Constitutional Carry gun laws and the impact that given changes may have upon the Tulsa community and local citizens.

The chapter’s Social Action Chairperson, Sherrita Sweet states, “in keeping with the service mission of the sorority, this FREE informative, community forum should give the public valuable insight into the implementation changes, challenges and appropriate applications of the newest gun laws.”

The new laws are scheduled to take place beginning November 1, 2019. The public is encouraged to come out, be made aware of the changes and actively participate in this event.

Local community members, state legislators, city councilors, police and legal agents, all of whom are most informed of the changes, have agreed to share their knowledge and insights about permit-less carry, open carry, concealed carry and other changes in the application of those gun laws in a “Stand Your Ground” state.

Founded in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a worldwide leader in community service and social action programs. The organization centers its program mission on a five-point thrust effort: Educational Development; Political Awareness and Development; Health and Wellness Advocacy; Economic Development and International Awareness and Development.
