TULSA, Okla. – While schools remain closed as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19, Tulsa Public Schools will support families by providing activities and resources to keep students engaged during their time out of school. Resources and activities are available on the district’s website at www.tulsaschools.org/athomeactivities. Families can also pick up printed packets of materials at any of the district’s 40 grab-and-go meal sites beginning mid-week.
“Our teachers and school leaders are eager to find ways to keep students learning,” said Superintendent Deborah A. Gist. “While these at-home engagement and enrichment activities cannot replace the teaching and learning that happens in our classrooms, we hope that parents and families will use these resources and activities to keep their children engaged outside of the classroom.”

Tulsa Public Schools is also using social media content to support parents with elementary-aged children at home. The district is launching two regular week-day features on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TulsaPublicSchools:
- Monday – Friday at 11:30 a.m.: Recess with Rob Kaiser (physical education games and activities); and
- Monday – Friday at 2 p.m.: Daily Read-Alouds (community members reading books for students in grades pre-K-3).
The district’s at-home engagement and enrichment activities are available at www.tulsaschools.org/athomeactivities and designed for students to complete at home with pencil and paper or online from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Students are not required to complete these activities during the closure. School leaders and teachers are working to develop plans to support students in the event of a longer school closure.
