GREENWOOD DIST. — Parents and students in the North Tulsa and surrounding community are invited to the North Tulsa Economic Development Initiative’s (NTEDi) 20th Annual Back-2-School Parent/Community Enrichment Extravaganza on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Tulsa Technology Center, 3850 North Peoria.

The event is a back-to-school tradition for many North Tulsa families. It allows parents, educators and the community to engage with one another, providing much-needed school supplies to students and other beneficial items free of charge (while supplies last).

“Do you remember the thrill of being a child and receiving all new school supplies for the first day of school?” said Dr. Lana Turner-Addison, president of NTEDi. “How about the joy of having fresh, unbroken crayons or a new backpack? More than 80 percent of students in North Tulsa come from households living below the poverty line, and they deserve to experience the same enthusiasm for school.”

Dr. Turner-Addison is calling on the community to come together this year in support of the area’s youth. As the organization continues its mission to foster positive change, NTEDi emphasizes the importance of collective effort in building brighter futures for local children. This year’s Back-2-School Extravaganza stands as a vital part of that mission, offering a chance for the community to actively contribute to the well-being and success of the next generation.
