TULSA, Okla. — Fulton Street Books & Coffee is proud to announce the Buy Black Tulsa Holiday Markets, a series of three community market dates showcasing Black-owned businesses in the heart of Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood District.
These markets, taking place on November 29th, December 6th, and December 20th, from 4:00-7:00 pm are designed to uplift local Black entrepreneurs and foster intentional shopping during the holiday season.
The Buy Black Tulsa Business Markets provide an exciting platform for Black-owned businesses to connect with the Tulsa community, showcase their products and services, and gain exposure to a diverse customer base. With the holiday season in full swing, this initiative emphasizes supporting and strengthening the local economy.
The announcement of the markets come nearly a year after Fulton Street Books & Coffee moved its location from West Latimer Street to the heart of Black Wall Street. Onikah Asamoa-Caesar, owner of Fulton Street Books & Coffee, has grown her business over the last few years, becoming a staple in the community.
“When people saw this Black girl trying to open a coffee shop, the commentary was wild,” Asamoa-Caesar told the crowd. Some questioned whether Black people even drink coffee,” she said at her grand opening on Greenwood in December 2023.
“I am a proud Black woman who is a mother and an entrepreneur, and I’m not stopping no time soon, y’all,” she said.
