Black Sorority Launches COVID-19 Webinar

CARY, NC (BlackNews) — “We Are Sigma Strong” is the theme of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority‘s 6-part webinar series launched March 25, to bring resources, tips and some peace of mind to their membership and the general public. Members of the public can register for the webinars on the organization’s website or listen to the recordings that include a question and answer session.

Topics include: Dealing with Feelings of Isolation and Fear (March 25); Tips for Homeschooling with Patience (March 27); Personal Care: Hair, Skin and Fitness (April 1); Preparing for an Uncertain Job Market (April 3); Being Sigma Smart with Your Money (April 8); Planning for a Post Coronavirus Era: What to Expect? (April 11).

All webinars are led by highly skilled and credentialed professionals.

“COVID-19 is now a part of our daily lives! We are all practicing social distancing and many of us are sheltering in place at home. To help our members navigate this new normal, Sigma Gamma Rho is leveraging the expertise of our members and other professionals to provide needed support during this time of uncertainty,” said Deborah Catchings-Smith, international president of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. “Because these topics are of interest to so many, for the first time ever, we are making the recordings and handouts available to the general public on our website.”
