Twitter temporarily suspends Donald Trump Jr.’s account after he tweeted a video that violated the company’s policies, spreading COVID-19 misinformation.
According to a spokesperson from Twitter, in the video, a doctor makes false claims that people “don’t need masks” to prevent the virus from spreading to others. The spokesperson added that Trump Jr.’s Twitter account is suspended for 12 hours.
The video was first published on the right-wing media outlet Breitbart. Once the video went viral that shows doctors making false claims about how the virus spreads, social media giants Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter quickly removed the dubious video.
According to Twitter, President Donald Trump also retweeted edited versions of the video but didn’t upload the full video, which his why his account wasn’t suspended, and his son was.
