TULSA, Okla. ––Tulsans of all ages are invited to Gathering Place’s QuikTrip Great Lawn to enjoy free showings of beloved movies at Cox Movie Nights beginning this Friday through October. Cox Movie Nights will kick off on Friday, May 24 with a free showing of Ratatouille. 

Family-Favorite Films and Themed Pre-Show Experiences at Cox Movie Nights

The event series will showcase five family-favorite movies and themed pre-show experiences that bring the film to life. Cox Movie Nights will take place one Friday a month in May, June, August, September, and October. The pre-show activities will begin at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 7 p.m. 

“Cox Movie Nights are a key event series at Gathering Place, thanks to our partners at Cox Communications,” said Julio Badin, Executive Director of Gathering Place. “Tulsans and their families can watch some of the greatest movies for kids while immersed in the beautiful scenery of the park. It’s a special way to experience movies on the big screen.” 

This year, Cox Movie Nights will feature the following films: 

  • Ratatouille (G)––Friday, May 24 
  • Beauty & The Beast Sing-Along! (G)––Friday, June 21 
  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie (PG)––Friday, August 16 
  • Shrek (PG)––Friday, September 20 
  • People’s Choice––Friday, October 25 

 
Later this summer, the public can vote on which movie will be played during the Halloween-themed movie night on Friday, October 25. More information about the people’s choice vote will be available on Gathering Place’s Facebook page at a later date.

Cox Movie Nights will kick off on Friday, May 24. The remaining Cox Movie Nights will take place on June 21, August 16, September 20, and October 25.
