TULSA, Okla. โ€” The Terence Crutcher Foundation (TCF) is stepping into a new era of impact after being selected as a Round 14 grantee by the NBA Foundation.

The partnership will fuel the Foundationโ€™s signature program, Project LEAD, a youth fellowship designed to shape the next generation of north Tulsa leaders.

Rooted in the heart of north Tulsa, Project LEAD reimagines what leadership looks like for high school students often labeled โ€œat-riskโ€ โ€” a term TCF deliberately rejects, calling these young people โ€œat-power.โ€

The program arms students with mentorship, career exploration, leadership training, and mental health support, preparing them to graduate not just with diplomas, but with the skills and self-determination to claim their futures.

“We are honored to be a part of this round of NBA Foundation grantees,” said Dr. Tiffany Crutcher, founder and executive director of the Terence Crutcher Foundation. “This investment represents a belief in the brilliance and potential of Tulsaโ€™s youth. We’re not preparing young people to fit into broken systemsโ€”weโ€™re preparing them to reimagine and rebuild them.”

Through Project LEAD, students aren’t just being prepared to survive the world as it is โ€” they’re being positioned to change it, according to TCF. The program challenges them to reclaim their narratives, envision new possibilities, and step boldly into roles of influence and innovation.

The announcement was also met with excitement by the local NBA community.

โ€œWe are thrilled that our friends at the Terence Crutcher Foundation are a recipient for this round of NBA Foundation grants,” said Erin Oldfield, Oklahoma City Thunder vice president of Community Engagement. “This is a tremendous boost to their work in the Tulsa community as an advocate and critical resource for youth development and for pathways for success.”
