Texas Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick blamed unvaccinated Black people for the rise in Covid spread in his state.

On Fox News with Laura Ingraham, Patrick stated, “The Covid is spreading. Particularly, most of the numbers are with the unvaccinated. And the Democrats like to blame that on Republicans. Well, the biggest group in most states are African Americans who have not been vaccinated.”

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services data, Whites and Hispanics accounted for 70 percent of infections while Blacks made up 16 percent of cases. Blacks are 13 percent of the state’s total population.

Patrick added, “The last time I checked, over 90% of them vote for Democrats in their major cities and major counties.”

Last month Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared an executive order banning private companies and public institutions from vaccinations and mask mandates, despite the growing number of cases in his state.

Despite Abbott’s relaxed Covid policies, Patrick has also blamed immigrants for the rise in Covid infections.

During the interview, Patrick failed to acknowledge the long history of systemic racism in the medical field. Black American were often the test population.

There are currently over 12,000 Texans hospitalized due to Covid complications; the state continues averaging 80 deaths per day.

  1. The Texas Gov and the racist Lt. Gov. also refused to allocate the proposed money for outreach into the black community to educate about vaccinations. He was right about one thing, if you listened to his statement, he said the Democrats should take care of the black community because they vote Democratic. Thus explaining why he blocked Covid outreach education to the black community and recognizing who does care about minority populations. It used to be Governors were elected to serve all the people. But never in Texas. When Republicans win they only govern on behalf of those with a fairer complexation than the majority of the population.
