For the second time this month, several Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across the country have received bomb threats.

At least six HBCUs received bomb threats Monday morning, disrupting campus operations and launching police investigations.

Southern University and A&M, Howard University, Bethune-Cookman University, Albany State University, Bowie State University and Delaware State University all received bomb threats.

Classes canceled amidst threats

Luckily, none of the threats at HBCUs earlier this month were found to be credible.

Classes were cancelled at Southern University and A&M College this morning as law enforcement investigated the legitimacy of the bomb threat.

After the Washington Metropolitan Police Department cleared the scene at Howard University, they confirmed to CNN that the “scene has been cleared with no hazardous materials found.”

This is the second time this month that HBCUs have received threats, some of which have led schools to relocate students, faculty and staff while searches are conducted.

Earlier this month, the White House HBCU’s Twitter page released the following statement in regards to the bomb threats at HBCUs:

“Every student, staff and faculty member deserves a safe place to learn, live and work. @WHI_HBCUs Campus and Resiliency cluster will continue to ensure the proper resources are available to HBCUs to help keep campuses safe.”

  1. This is the threat of White Rage without action. Its no different than the CRT as that non-physical White Rage. So HBCUs were formed because White Supremacist’s didn’t want Blacks to attend the PWIs. No, White Supremacists either don’t want Blacks to go to HBCUs or not go to school. #ProfDavisSays PS…Disclaimer ( White People and White Supremacists are not the same as not all European Americans adhere to the causes of Neo Nazis or White Nationalism).
